Tennessee Wedding Locations
Did you know Tennessee is a hot wedding destination? You have the famous tourist destinations of Nashville and Memphis, as well as the Great Smoky Mountain town of Gatlinburg, which holds the distinction of being called "The Wedding Capital of the South."
Tennessee can be broken up into 3 distinct areas: West Tennessee, Middle Tennessee and East Tennessee.
West Tennessee
West Tennessee is known for the cities of Germantown and Memphis. Memphis is probably best known for being the home of Elvis' Graceland Mansion. And, yes, you can be married there - at Graceland's Chapel in the Woods, adjacent to the grounds of Graceland. Graceland's chapel can accommodate weddings of just the two of you on up to wedding parties of 50 people. The chapel offers an intimate reception area with a table to showcase your wedding cake. The price for the basic wedding is actually quite reasonable - $650.00. This includes use of the chapel for 1-1/2 hours and the Officiant. For larger weddings in the Memphis area, you might want to consider The Veranda, Memphis's newest special events facility. located in Midtown Memphis, The Veranda can accommodate up to 200 guests; 150 seated and 200 standing. Middle Tennessee
Middle Tennessee is where you'll find Nashville, best known for country music and the Grand Ole Opry. While searching for a venue in the Nashville area, you may want to consider one of the grand antebellum mansions for which the area is famous. Some great ones available for weddings include Belmont Mansion, Carnton Plantation and Falcon Rest. For a fabulous garden wedding setting, do consider Cheekwood, another mansion-turned-botanical-garden and museum. East Tennessee
East Tennessee is best known for The Great Smoky Mountains National Park and nearby towns of Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and Sevierville, which has an incredible number of wedding venues to choose from.
