The Poconos The Poconos is often referred to as the "Romance Capital of the World," popular as a destination for couples getting married or on their honeymoon. Encompassing over 2,400 square miles the Pocono Mountains are blessed with rolling mountain terrain, awesome waterfalls, and over 150 miles of winding rivers. They're also a perfect wedding destination for any season. In the winter you can have a snowy wedding; in the spring and summer you can add golf, whitewater rafting and hiking to your honeymoon itinerary. It's also a fabulous place for a Poconos destination wedding. They offer wedding and reception packages, as well as a "just for two" elopement package. Their outdoor weddings and receptions are held from April to October, while their indoor weddings are held year-round. What we like about this place is the variety of places to hold your wedding, from the golf course to the river sanctuary on the banks of the Delaware River, to the 200-seat Shawnee Theater where your wedding is held on stage, which includes special sets, lighting and costumes. Truly a unique wedding experience. The Shawnee Inn also has a nice, inexpensive elopement package which includes overnight accommodations with a bottle of champagne and breakfast the next morning. Philadelphia and the Surrounding Countryside Philadelphia is the birthplace of our country. It can also be the start of your life together. The Cheshire House offers complete wedding services, as well as a several venues for weddings and receptions: a formal living room and ballroom with grand piano; and atrium and gardens. The house can hold about 100 people, with parking for 80 cars. The owner of the Cheshire House has the ability to perform weddings.
