Nevada Wedding Venues

When most people think of Nevada, they think Las Vegas. While Las Vegas is certainly the most sought-after spot for weddings in Nevada (and one we cover on our Las Vegas Weddings page), there are other Nevada venues you might also consider, some with the glitz of Vegas but without the crowds.

Laughlin, NV Weddings

Laughlin is located alongside the Colorado River, along the Arizona, Nevada border, and just a 5-hour drive from Los Angeles. For many people it's known as the "other Las Vegas."

With Laughlin you have the casinos and some of the glitz of Vegas, but with the Colorado River right outside your casino or hotel. Laughlin also caters to those eloping or having larger weddings, with numerous chapels as well as other wedding venues, such as the U.S.S. Riverside, a luxury tour boat from Don Laughlin's Riverside Resort Hotel & Casino. You can charter the entire boat for a large wedding, or have an elopement ceremony for just the two of you, or with a few friends and relatives.

The 1 hour and 20 minute cruise will take you under Laughlin Bridge to Davis Dam, traveling along Casino Row.

Small wedding packages (2-5 guests) start at $225 and include a minister, champagne, toasting glasses for the bride and groom, video tape and t-shirts commemorating the wedding.

There is also a bare-bones package for starting at $135 during the week (more for the weekend) which includes the boat ride and a minister.

For larger weddings you can also charter the entire boat for parties from 25 to 119 guests, starting at $625 during the week.

Their fees do not include a marriage license. An Arizona wedding license is required, which is available through the Mohave County Clerk's Office located in Bullhead City, Arizona at 2225 Trane Road. Bullhead City is located just across the bridge from Laughlin.

The Bullhead City Courthouse is open Monday through Friday, 8:30am - 12:00pm and 1:30pm - 4:30pm.

For information about having your wedding on the U.S.S. Riverside, call 1-800-227-3849.

Another Laughlin venue you might want to consider is the Aquarius Casino Resort. Their wedding packages start at $150 for 2-5 people and includes a wedding chapel, champagne toast and keepsake toasting glasses for the bride and groom. Other packages are a wedding ceremony for 6-10 people for $275 or one for 11-25 people for $375 people. While the price is low, it does not include a minister or wedding officiant. However, you can get referrals from the resort by calling the catering department at 866-268-7066. Their wedding staff can also be contacted for more info by calling 702-298-5156.

Reno, NV Weddings

Another mini-Vegas is Reno, just over the border with California and close to Lake Tahoe. As you might expect there are many different wedding chapels to choose from which are ideal for those choosing to elope. The one that stands out most is the Arch of Reno Wedding Chapel, which was voted Northern Nevada's "Best Wedding Chapel" by Nevada Magazine in 2003, 2004 and 2005. It's located in downtown Reno. There are tux and gown rentals, as well as photography and video services available. You can call for more info at 866-337-1555.

If you're not into wedding chapels (they may seem impersonal to some), you might want to consider The Chism House, which includes a restored Victorian manor and grounds for a lovely, elegant wedding. Winter weddings are held in front of the large marble fireplace in the fireplace, while summer garden weddings take plaice by an arbor next to a large pond. You can find out more info by calling The Chism House at 775-322-5455.

Carson City, NV Weddings

Carson City is located 30 miles south of Reno, in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada range. While some might think that Las Vegas would be the capital of Nevada, they would be wrong. In fact, Carson City is the capital of Nevada, yet still retains much of its old-west charm.

Two wedding venues of note in Carson City are the Carson City Plaza Hotel and Empire Ranch Golf Course. The staff of the Hotel and Golf Course offer full-service wedding coordination with all the amenities you'd expect of a first-class wedding venue. But, if you want some of the bells and whistles taken out, they can custom-design a wedding package for you. Call them at 775-883-9500 or 888-227-1499, or email them for info at info@carsoncityplaza.com.

Dayton, NV Weddings

Dayton is situated northeast of Carson City and is home to the Dayton Valley Country Golf and Country Club, the perfect place to hold a grand wedding surrounded by the Sierra Mountains. Their outdoor ceremony is held on the patio with a view of the lakes and golf course, followed by a reception for 20-200 guests. Call their wedding director at 775-246-7888, ext. 714.

Incline Village - Lake Tahoe

Located on the north shore of Lake Tahoe, Incline Village offers mountain peaks and beautiful Lake Tahoe as the backdrop to your wedding. Venues include:

The Chateau at Incline Village, with mountain and lake views, as well as large stone fireplaces and vaulted timber ceilings.

Aspen Grove, which is located across the street from the beaches of Lake Tahoe on Third Creek. This venue is best for spring, summer and fall weddings. Can accommodate up to 200 people.

Diamond Peak Ski Resort's Snowflake Lodge is perfect for winter weddings from mid-December to mid-April. Situated mid-mountain, Diamond Peak offers awesome views of Lake Tahoe.
